Yeah, I strip all non-alphanumeric characters before handing any user input to the database functions. Certain strings I specifically allow (period ".", and dash "-", the usual) but I neglected to add the plus sign. Fixed it moments after reading your post :-) James

There's also a handful with apostrophes like alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.1960's (and 1970's and 1980's and 1990's), alt.children's-camps, alt.men's-rights, alt.www.sites.that.don't.suck, fidonet.musician's_services, etc.
